CLEVELAND — Authorities are investigating the deadly shooting of a local rap artist, found inside an apartment early Sunday morning. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 28-year-old Carlos Banks, known by his stage name, KashBankx. Banks had built a significant following on social media through his music career.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers were dispatched around 4 a.m. to an address on Broadway Avenue in the Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood, where they discovered Banks inside the 5115 The Rising apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced him deceased at the scene.
No arrests have been announced at this time. The investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing, and Cleveland police are asking for the public’s assistance in gathering information.
