A fatal shooting in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood on Friday afternoon left a 52-year-old man dead and resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old suspect, according to police.
The incident occurred near West 44th Street and Hyde Avenue after an argument between the two men escalated into gunfire. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
Cleveland police received a call about the shooting and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene. EMS personnel transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations suggest that during the argument, the victim fired a gun at the suspect, grazing him. As the victim attempted to leave, the suspect retaliated by shooting, fatally wounding the victim, according to police.
The suspect was treated at the hospital for a minor gunshot wound and has since been arrested. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
