A Cleveland family is in mourning after a tragic incident on the city’s west side claimed the life of a 54-year-old man.
Carlos Roldan lost his life in October following a fatal stabbing during what authorities describe as a drug-related dispute.
Roldan’s mother, Salena Clark, spoke about her son’s struggles but emphasized that his life shouldn’t have ended this way.
“He had just spent a year in prison, and after his release, he completed a rehab program. For the first time in years, he was sober and doing well,” Clark shared.
Clark had been planning to travel from her home in Columbus to reunite with her son in Cleveland, a trip filled with hope and anticipation.
“I’ve always known that my son was a remarkable person deep down,” she said. “I feel like I’ve been robbed of the chance to truly know him as his authentic self.”
The family is organizing a vigil to honor Roldan’s memory on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Christian Beaton, 22, has been charged in connection with Roldan’s death.
