Tickets are now on sale for Cleveland Ballet’s reimagined production of The Nutcracker, set to grace the stage from December 13–22 at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace.
This fresh adaptation, featuring new choreography by artistic director Timour Bourtasenkov, offers audiences updated costumes and staging to bring a vibrant twist to the beloved holiday tradition.
The two-act ballet, inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s original story and accompanied by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, promises 11 performances, including four matinees. For added holiday magic, cast members will be available for photos in the theater lobby before matinee performances.
A Holiday Favorite
Originally debuting in December 1892, The Nutcracker follows young Clara, who receives a magical nutcracker doll from her mysterious godfather, Drosselmeyer. As midnight strikes, the nutcracker springs to life, and Clara’s home transforms into a fantastical world. Together, they journey through the enchanting Land of Sweets, culminating in a whimsical adventure that leaves Clara wondering if it was all real or just a dream.
