A 25-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning near Public Square in downtown Cleveland, leading to the arrests of two teenagers.

Cleveland police responded to reports of a shooting at 230 Euclid Avenue around 2 a.m. Officers and emergency responders found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to investigators, the shooting followed a physical altercation between the victim and one of two individuals at the scene. During the fight, the 25-year-old reportedly pulled out a firearm and fired shots. A third individual attempted to intervene and also discharged a weapon.
The circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the roles of the individuals involved remain under investigation.
Police arrested a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male in connection with the incident. Charges are pending as the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
