Devon Jones, a 25-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting Cleveland rapper KashBankx, was apprehended Thursday night by U.S. Marshals in Pennsylvania.

The arrest follows a December 29 shooting in Cleveland’s Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood. Police responding to a call around 4 a.m. found 28-year-old Carlos Banks, who performed under the stage name KashBankx, inside an apartment on Broadway Avenue. Banks had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.
Authorities identified Jones as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. With the assistance of state and local law enforcement in Pennsylvania, U.S. Marshals located Jones at a residence on Washington Street in Indiana, Pennsylvania. During the arrest, authorities also discovered drugs at the home, leading to an additional felony charge for Jones in Pennsylvania.
“Our Marshals Service counterparts in western Pennsylvania responded swiftly to locate and arrest this Cleveland homicide suspect. Now, the grieving family of the victim is one step closer to getting the justice they deserve,” said Pete Elliott, U.S. Marshal for Northern Ohio.
Jones is expected to face charges for Banks’ murder in Ohio as well as drug-related charges in Pennsylvania.
