Innocent Until Proven Guilty? Bobby George and the Erosion of Due Process

In a world where social media thrives on controversy and clickbait, it’s easy for public figures to find themselves caught in the crosshairs of unwarranted criticism. Mr. George, an unwavering advocate for the community and a celebrated entrepreneur, has been the target of online attacks from individuals more interested in clout than truth. Taking the bait offered by biased city prosecutor Aqueelah Jordan, the online hate mobs have coalesced around Mr. George vying and reaching for clout at any given opportunity.

The allegations against Mr. George raise serious questions. A growing number of men’s lives are being
turned upside down and, in many cases, destroyed by unfounded accusations. Many such high-profile
incidents have repeatedly played out in the public eye, where intense media coverage and subsequent
trials by social media have eroded reputations long before any formal charges are made. For example,
LA Dodgers pitching star Trevor Bauer and the Duke lacrosse players, whose 2006 case resurfaced last
week when the accuser admitted to lying about being raped.
The American principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is being systematically replaced with “guilt by
accusation.” This troubling precedent undermines the foundations of justice, liberty, and the American
Dream itself.

The evidentiary basis for these types of accusations is often slim, the media’s rush to create sensational
stories for ad clicks and pageviews compromises the assumed impartiality at the heart of our justice
system. In many cases, personal or political agendas further distort this legacy of impartiality.

It’s important to take a hard look beyond the surface-level narratives and recognize the efforts of individuals like Mr. George. In spite of the online rhetoric, his actions continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of many. The community stands with him, and his impact will not be overshadowed by those seeking to undermine his efforts.

Who is Bobby George?

  • Mr. George is a highly successful Cleveland entrepreneur with a significant amount of wealth.
  • Mr. George has no criminal record and has contributed to public safety. For instance, he paid a
$50,000 reward that led to the arrest of a mass shooter last summer.
  • Mr. George is a public figure who vocally opposes the woke agenda, despite repeated attempts to
“cancel” him. Like many others in his position, Mr. George has become a target of mainstream media
and politicians who disagree with him.
  • Despite the political backlash, Mr. George has hosted political candidates of various ideologies at
his venues, including President Donald Trump and RFK Jr. during their campaigns for President.

Aqueelah Jordan should never of been involved

  • Aqueelah Jordan, the city prosecutor who brought the initial charges against Mr. George, has
publicly expressed animosity toward him. On December 3, 2023, a group called Stonewall
Democrats—of which Jordan is a board member—issued an open letter disparaging Mr. George, his
businesses, and anyone who supports them. The letter even went so far as to threaten individuals who
supported or attended Mr. George’s businesses. It explicitly criticized Mr. George’s conservative beliefs,
encouraging supporters to wage war against him.
  • Mr. George is in multiple litigations against the City, including a recent suit against the Port
Authority and city over an attempt to seize one of his properties via eminent domain on what proved
faulty legal grounds. The settlement details of these cases are still pending; thus the city prosecutor had
a professional and legal responsibility to recuse herself from the current allegations against Mr.
George…. Aqueelah not only did not recuse herself, but she used the allegations as an opportunity to
hurt her political enemy, Mr. George…. This is so anti-American…
  • All public records indicate that Mr. George was never even questioned regarding the allegations,
nor was any search warrant or investigation conducted outside of a statement from the alleged victim.
Mr. George was unceremoniously arrested, and his mugshot was plastered all over social media without
even a whiff of due process.
  • After the alleged victim issued her domestic violence complaint to the Strongsville police department, Mrs. Jordan got wind of it and involved herself, dragging the alleged victim down to Cleveland Police days later to file another statement, and continue inflating the case to fit her own agenda.

Fairness and Transparency Matter

Crimes as serious as those alleged against Mr. George should trigger an immediate full-scale
investigation. Yet in Mr. George’s case the city prosecutor charged him egregiously without even
contacting Mr. George or his lawyers during the investigation! If unsubstantiated accusations can lead to life-altering consequences, where is the justice, fairness, and objectivity in this country? It’s terrifying—and potentially precedent-setting—to watch as more high-profile cases see individuals presumed guilty the moment they’re accused. This is un-American and should concern us all.

The strategy behind these accusations seems clear: drag Mr. George through the court system, try to
destroy his businesses, hurt him and all those connected to him financially, and tarnish his reputation in
the media. The tactic is all too familiar (Trevor Bauer/Duke lacrosse players)—create a media spectacle,
apply public pressure, and force a settlement or lawsuit afterward, regardless of the outcome in court.

The Lack of Real Safeguards and Political Vindictiveness Harms Real Victims

The real victims of these kinds of crimes are also deeply impacted negatively by false accusations and
shoddy investigations. Of course, any real victims should be granted a protection order, but then a full-
scale investigation should take place. After long, expensive, and highly publicized legal battles where
false accusers are discredited, the collateral damage extends to real victims, who will face increased
scrutiny due to the dishonest actions of so many such public false accusers.

Ultimately, the case of Mr. George echoes the disturbing trend of wealthy public figures being accused
of horrendous crimes fueled not by facts but by the personal vendetta of women seeking a payday or
politicians seeking to discredit those who they disagree with. Once the allegations have been made
public then the “trial by social media” commences before the accused ever has their day in court.
In regard to the Mr. George case remember what the author of Proverbs wrote in Proverbs 18: 17
“The one who first states a case seems right, until the other comes and cross-examines.”
Numerous attempts to contact Mr. George and the alleged victim for comment have been made, to no
avail. If either of them wish to comment on this article please reach out to me at (email we put in)
