Man Stabbed Eight Times During Robbery Near Downtown Cleveland Bus Station

CLEVELAND — A man suffered multiple stab wounds during a robbery near the downtown Greyhound Bus Station on Tuesday evening, according to police reports.

Officers responded to a call about a stabbing at Tower City around 10:38 p.m. and spoke with a security guard who mentioned seeing the victim heading toward the north side of Hotel Cleveland.

Shortly after, the victim approached officers at the corner of West Roadway and West Superior, stating that two men attempted to rob him before stabbing him. He described the suspects as individuals he believed to be drug users.

The victim told police the attack occurred around 10 p.m. near 13th Street and Chester Avenue. Cleveland EMS transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Emergency responders confirmed the man sustained approximately eight stab wounds—mostly to his back—along with a facial injury and a possible cut to the back of his neck. His identity has not been released.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at Cleveland’s Third District.

This incident is the latest in a series of stabbings reported downtown since June. On Sunday, a separate incident occurred when a man allegedly chased a family with a butcher knife on Superior Avenue. Witnesses reported no injuries in that case.

The City of Cleveland is scheduled to host a public safety services recruitment meeting on Wednesday, February 19, at the Collinwood Recreation Center.
