
The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Friday afternoon in Huron County, claiming the life of an 88-year-old Cleveland man.
According to OSHP’s Norwalk Post, the crash took place around 2:59 p.m. on State Route 303 near Butler Road. Authorities reported that the elderly driver was traveling westbound in a 2012 Buick LaCrosse when he veered left of center, colliding head-on with an eastbound 2017 Toyota Tundra driven by a 70-year-old Grafton man.
The 88-year-old driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota Tundra suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Health – Allen Hospital in Oberlin for treatment.
Investigators noted that the deceased driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the accident.
