A student at John Marshall High School in Cleveland was arrested Monday after being found with a loaded firearm at a school checkpoint, according to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD).
The incident occurred at the West 140th Street campus during routine security procedures. CMSD officials stated that a Safety and Security Officer promptly confiscated the weapon, and Cleveland Police took the student into custody. No injuries were reported.
In a letter sent to students, families, and staff, the district assured the community that safety remains a top priority and confirmed that no one was harmed during the incident. CMSD is cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
