Cleveland Man Arrested Following Crash in Shaker Heights

A 53-year-old Cleveland man was arrested Saturday morning after a traffic incident that ended in a crash in Shaker Heights, according to police.

The Shaker Heights Police Department reported that officers initially stopped the man for speeding in front of their headquarters on Lee Road. However, as officers approached the vehicle, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, weaving through traffic. Police did not pursue the vehicle at that time.

Later, around 9:45 a.m., authorities discovered that the same vehicle had been involved in a crash near the intersection of Southington and South Woodland Roads. Two people, a 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, were in the other vehicle involved.

All three individuals were transported to a hospital. Their current conditions have not been released.

Following the crash, officers arrested the driver and charged him with multiple traffic offenses, including reckless operation and fleeing and eluding. The incident remains under investigation.
