Cleveland firefighters responded Thursday afternoon after a massive tree crashed onto a house during a round of intense storms sweeping through Northeast Ohio.
The incident occurred on West 173rd Street, just south of Milburn Avenue, according to the Cleveland Division of Fire. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m., where they found significant roof damage and a shattered window caused by the impact.

Photos shared by the department on social media showed the tree sprawled across the residence, with limbs entangled on the roof and surrounding property. Firefighters worked to clear debris, including helping a neighbor remove a vehicle that had been damaged by falling branches.
Fortunately, no one was home when the tree came down, officials confirmed.
The city had been under multiple severe weather alerts earlier in the day, with strong winds and thunderstorms triggering warnings across Cuyahoga County and surrounding areas.
“Beware of wind storms this spring,” Cleveland Fire cautioned in their public safety message. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the hazards posed by high winds and saturated ground conditions during storm season.
