Asian Lantern Festival Set to Illuminate Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Starting July 5

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will once again glow with vibrant colors and larger-than-life displays as the popular Asian Lantern Festival returns for its eighth season this summer. The event begins Friday, July 5, and runs through Sunday, August 24, offering guests a spectacular nighttime experience.

Among the new features for 2025 is Dragons Landing, an all-new attraction showcasing 12 dazzling dragons, including a striking 100-foot-long “ice and fire” dragon centerpiece. Other eye-catching installations include a towering four-story hydrangea and butterfly tree, immersive light tunnels, and themed zones celebrating wildlife from the Nile River, ocean habitats, botanical gardens, and more.

“Over the years, the Asian Lantern Festival has become a cherished summer tradition in Northeast Ohio, drawing more than a million guests,” said Kelly Manderfield, Chief Marketing Officer of Cleveland Metroparks. “This year’s event introduces a host of fresh displays and interactive elements that will enchant both newcomers and returning fans.”
