Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Cleveland Metroparks

A Cleveland man is facing murder charges after authorities say he intentionally struck and killed another man with his vehicle during a dispute at the Cleveland Metroparks on Friday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. in a parking lot near the Memphis Picnic Area, close to the intersection of Memphis Avenue and Tiedeman Road. According to Cleveland Metroparks Police, the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Faraj Sabeiha, contacted 911 to report that he had been involved in an altercation with another man at the park. Investigators said Sabeiha admitted that when the man stood in front of his vehicle, he deliberately drove into him.

Responding officers found the 62-year-old victim from Lakewood dead at the scene. Following the collision, police said Sabeiha fled on foot into a wooded area nearby. He was located and taken into custody without further incident around 9:42 a.m.

Sabeiha has been charged with murder. The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from the Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights police departments.
