4-Year-Old Cleveland Boy Dies After Being Struck by Car

A 4-year-old boy who was hit by a vehicle last week on Cleveland’s east side has died from his injuries, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, near the intersection of East 112th Street and Woodland Avenue. Police say the child, identified as Adonnis Davis of Cleveland, stepped off the sidewalk and into the roadway when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.

A preliminary investigation by police indicated the driver had just passed through the intersection and was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the boy.

Davis was critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later on Thursday, June 26, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police have not released the driver’s identity or commented on whether any charges are being considered as the case remains under review.
