15-Year-Old Fatally Shot in East Side Cleveland Homicide

CLEVELAND — A teenager has died following a fatal shooting Monday in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood, raising concerns about youth violence as the city approaches 71 homicides for the year.

The victim, 15-year-old Cashon Roberts of Cleveland Heights, was shot in the 2500 block of Bundy Drive in an apartment complex owned by the Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center but died soon after.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed Roberts’ identity and said there are no arrests yet.

Details remain scarce, including the motive of the shooting and whether any suspects have been identified. Local media reached out to Cleveland Police and EMS for further comment.

This case brings Cleveland’s homicide total to 71 so far this year—down from 84 at the same point in 2024—a drop of about 15%.
