CLEVELAND — A teenage boy was fatally shot Friday evening at a deli in the North Shore–Collinwood neighborhood, Cleveland EMS reported. The incident took place at E 185th, where emergency personnel were called shortly after 7:00 p.m.
When they arrived, the teen had already succumbed to his injuries, EMS officials said. Cleveland police are investigating the shooting; no arrests have yet been announced.
The homicide marks another tragic loss in Cleveland’s ongoing struggle with gun violence. Neighbors say the area around the deli is usually busy, but they are increasingly concerned about safety.
Police are asking anyone with information about what led up to the shooting — especially those who may have seen a suspect or noticed suspicious activity — to contact the Cleveland Division of Police or submit tips through Crime Stoppers.
